Johnny Blade and James Hall

Rojo, 2921 Highland Avenue South, Birmingham, Alabama

Electric troubadour James Hall (Mary My Hope, Pleasure Club, the Futura Bold) is joined by fellow Player/Kommander alum, Johnny Blade (Autumn Lords), for an intimate night of song wizardry, burrakathary, and communal merriment at Rojo in Birmingham, AL on Friday, September 16.

Drawing from P/K's prodigious material (including the exceptional "On The Verge Of Absolute Get Down"[2008 Mighty Loud]), Hall's solo work, and a few seminal chestnuts, this promises to be a quality evening.

Hall and Blade are highly regarded, unique characters long steeped in the rock and roll tradition. But it is their prowess in the rare craft of sophisticated songwriting that shines through on a performance like this. Hear how well these songs stand up in a different light, on their own as they truly are without the bells and whistles.

Rojo has vibe, and the turnout for Hall and Blade was strong the last time they came through. Come out and join the fun Friday the 16th (8 pm).

You might have some Tanya Tucker in you after all.
